Over the past few weeks, ITV’s flagship show, This Morning, has been in the headlines. Media attention began to gravitate when so-called best friends Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby were revealed to be in the middle of a feud.
What followed was a week of painfully awkward moments between the two on the show. The drama seemed too much for Philip, who also faces the imprisonment of his brother. After more than 20 years, Philippe announced on Saturday, May 20, that he was leaving This Morning with immediate effect.

Richard and Judy
Husband and wife Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan were the original hosts of This Morning, serving from 1988 to 2001. Like Philip and Holly, they hosted the show every Monday through Thursday.
In 2001, Richard and Judy announced that they would wave goodbye to the This Morning couch. They had been approached by Channel 4 to produce a similar program in which she would be broadcast for an hour in the evening.
Channel 4’s Richard and Judy aired from 2001 to 2008. The couple then left the channel to host ‘Richard and Judy’s New Stand’ on UKTV, although the show itself only lasted him a year. Richard is now a regular host of Good Morning Britain, but Judy doesn’t like the limelight.
Ross Kelly
Ross first joined the show as a Relief presenter in 1990 and left the show as a producer and Relief presenter for GMTV in 1993. In 2000, he returned to This Morning as a relief presenter.
In addition to making occasional appearances on “This Morning,” Ross also appeared on “Blankety Blank” and “The Heaven and Earth Show” (not to be confused with GMB and Lorraine entertainment reporter Ross King). Since 2001, he has not made any notable television appearances.
caron keating
In 1998, Caron appeared in the 10th series of Richard and Judy airing on Fridays off. Before she joined, she had already found fame in the popular BBC children’s TV series Blue Peter.
Only a year after appearing on the show, Karon was forced to leave the program due to poor health. She tragically passed away at the young age of 41 in 2004 after her battle with cancer.
twiggy
Model, actress and singer Twiggy made a brief appearance as a presenter on This Morning in September 2001 after the departure of Richard and Judy. Her stint on the show was hardly a success, as she was quickly fired by the producers.

John Leslie

In 2002, John was sensationally removed from This Morning by ITV. The incident came after TV host Ulrika Jonsson wrote her autobiography, Honest, in which she claimed she was raped by an “acquaintance” of hers when she was 19. Report OK! Fern Britton
During his ten years on This Morning Sofa, Fern hosted the show alongside both John Leslie and Philip Scofield. Before she joined the show in 1999, she was a presenter on the BBC’s She’s Ready Steady Cook.
In 2009, Fern announced his decision to leave This Morning. Then there were reports that she was involved in a heated feud with her co-host Philippe.
In his autobiography, Life Is What You Make It, Phillip said he got into an argument with Fern over the content of the episode in the make-up room and was surprised when she accused him of “interfering”. “I went back to the make-up room and calmly said, ‘Please, don’t do that again,'” he said.
“For whatever reason, I think that’s where Fern decided he didn’t want to do ‘This Morning’ anymore.” There were reports that it was because of this.
Lorraine Kelly
Starting in 2004, Lorraine co-presented with Philippe on Mondays and Fridays so that Fern could spend more time with his family. Despite being a huge hit with her audience, she struggled to divide her time between This Morning and GMTV host, which forced her to leave the show. .

Eamon Holmes and Ruth Langsford
Eamon stepped down from This Morning in 2021 after being on the show since 2006. He usually hosted on Fridays with his wife Ruth Langsford.
Eamon’s departure from ITV came after he and Ruth left the show’s Friday slot, starring Dermot O’Leary and Allison Hammond. Ruth still appears on This Morning as an occasional relief presenter, but Eamon has taken a new path.

Matt Johnson
Caerphilly-born Welsh host Matt worked on This Morning from 2010 to 2013. During his time on the show, he mostly worked as part of the interactive “hub” team.
