what happens next
So, Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom is a bot that has been a huge hit both critically and in terms of sales, but may I ask first what happens next? The next Zelda is clearly for Switch 2 But what does that mean? I can’t imagine them using the same map again. So this probably means it will be a separate game not connected to the previous two. This is how Zelda normally works.
But I really can’t imagine them going back to the old method for the obvious reason that the new method is much more successful. Nintendo may want to experiment, but they like money more, and Zelda is suddenly the new cash cow, not just a series of prestige.
But how do you differentiate between the next game and the last two games? I imagine the new art style will bring about big changes, but also new gimmicks. Maybe destructive power? They put so much effort into the physics system that extending it to Battlefield-style destruction seems like a logical next step to me.
Predicting Nintendo never works, so I’m pretty sure I’m wrong, but I’d love to find out… about 6 years later.

break the equation
I’m not as dismissive of Ubisoft as some others, so I’m curious to see what they announce next week. However, I must first say that another The Crew game and 100 Assassin’s Creed isn’t the best way to get people on board. I think they have something else, at least not as far as I know.
I don’t know what that new game is. No clue as far as I’ve looked, and I haven’t heard anyone else suggest it. I just hope it’s not another open-world game that’s basically the same as the one already announced, but with a slightly different name and theme.
Even if it’s open world. Don’t follow the formula, try something a little different. There are no on-screen guides or markers, just proper gameplay, with Elden looking at how well Ring and Zelda did before seeing the final few blunders. This will tell you what you need to do.

year off
A sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, a sequel to 1-2-Switch? 2017 has started again. So the obvious hope is a sequel to Super Mario Odyssey?
Must assume the team is busy something And it would be a great Christmas release and swan song for the Switch. But of course, it would make just as much sense for the next Mario game to be a Switch 2 launch title.
I just wish E3 still existed and that Nintendo would be on board. That way, you’ll know when you’ll get the information in some way.

GC: Their silence is puzzling, as this is the first year that there was no Nintendo Direct in June, unrelated to E3. The Super Mario team has been pretty late in announcing new games, but as you say, it’s impossible to guess why they haven’t.
bad timing
I just wanted to write to praise the excellent Chained Echoes. I spent a little over 40 hours of her (not all at once) completing everything she was offered. It was really fun. Combat was an homage to classic Japanese role-playing games while also being very fresh and modern.
The plot surpassed all expectations in a good way, and the side content apart from the main quest was so fulfilling that I wanted to see more! However, I would like to emphasize the music. Some of my favorite game music titles have songs that I thought were great. I couldn’t recommend this game enough.

GC: It was good. It’s a shame that we released in December and got crushed by the Christmas rush. I don’t think we’ve heard anyone talking about this piece other than you.
detour
Well, I’ve just completed a particular shrine in The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom in an unnecessarily complicated and inefficient way. It took 30 minutes.
But after doing that, out of curiosity, I decided to search YouTube for a solution. The long story was cut short and the video was 3 minutes long including the ad he…
Note to future self: Don’t overthink it.

it’s just June
So far my game of the year is Like a Dragon: Ishin! I’m a huge Yakuza game fan and this game has a nice twist to the formula and setting. The story is great, with the usual twists and turns, and I spent hours playing through all the side quests and minigames. I love it!
Also, I’m playing XCOM 2 again, and it’s one of my all-time favorite games. This game cheats a lot and his 3 super aliens are terrible but very addictive. It’s a very good game.

big deal
I disagree with the suggestion that Microsoft would be better off getting a timed exclusivity for GTA 6 than a deal with Activision. Will a deal like this change direction significantly? It will probably cause a big ruckus. The reaction to Rise Of The Tomb Raider being his year-long Xbox exclusive is ample evidence of the backlash. PlayStation could get around it, but Xbox couldn’t.
Besides, I don’t think Microsoft is keen on verifying claims from the CMA or FTC at a critical time in their deal with Activision Blizzard. However, I think the timed exclusive sale is annoying. I wish they were gone.
Well, the needle may change if Xbox introduces GTA 6 on Game Pass day one. Take-Two’s CEO recently expressed support for a merger between Activision Blizzard and Microsoft, which is interesting. It’s an expensive deal, of course, but it could keep Sony fans and the media away from Microsoft, and it would have far more impact than timed monopoly nonsense.
I’d be shocked if GTA 6 was included in Game Pass, but the more I think about it, the more it makes sense.

GC: We don’t think they meant as good as their deal with Activision Blizzard, but instead.
not yet classic
Just a quick question. I want a new Assassin’s Creed game, but £60 is a bit too much. I heard that it will appear on the first day of Ubisoft+. Is that true? And is Ubisoft+ included in PS Plus Extra or PS Plus Premium?
David
GC: Assassin’s Creed Mirage is coming to Ubisoft+ from day one, but only Ubisoft+ Classics is free for Plus Extra and Premium. Ubisoft+ Classics is just an old game, so Mirage will not be included in it.
shameless arrogance
I don’t own a gaming PC, but I found myself disagreeing with this weekend’s reader feature, at least to the point that Microsoft and Sony are acting like clowns. In the case of a large company like this, the people in charge have a childlike attitude, no strategy seems to be going their way, and the bottom line is that they don’t know what they’re doing. It looks like the fact is.
They both just need to get in the business of making and releasing games — proper games that people really want, not crappy games on live services — and yet that’s what they’re doing. It’s the only thing they seem to deny. Perhaps Microsoft can bounce back a little in the showcase, but frankly they have a lot to catch up on, and his buggy Bethesda game and his new Fable are I’m guaranteed hits. It’s not what you call it.
Sony is arrogant, sure, but at least there’s a reason for it. Microsoft is arrogant without doing much. Both should stop the posture and start the action. Perhaps Microsoft will, but Sony already seems to have missed its chance this year. It looks like we’re going to get Spider-Man 2 and be happy.
It’s a shame. This generation started very well, but it quickly went downhill when Microsoft tried to acquire Activision Blizzard. It was a good year for gaming, but it had nothing to do with PlayStation or Xbox.

To be honest, I expected more from the metaquest showcase. No really famous names have been revealed, except for no mention of Assassin’s Creed and his GTA. Their new headset was the biggest news, but I already have a Meta Quest 2.
