Singer Lisa Marie Presley, the only child of rock and roll legend Elvis, has died, her mother said in a statement.
54 years old caused cardiac arrest Thursday morning at his home in Calabasas, Calif.
Her mother, Priscilla Presley, said: “It is with a heavy heart that I have to share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us.
“She was the most passionate, strong, loving woman I’ve ever known.”
It followed an earlier statement by the 77-year-old woman asking people to “keep her and our family safe in your prayers.”
She said her daughter “was taken to the hospital.”
Paramedics were called just before 10:40 a.m., according to Los Angeles (LA) County fire department spokesperson Craig Little, who reported that the woman had gone into complete cardiac arrest.
According to property records, Presley lived at an address about 30 miles northwest of downtown LA.
Presley’s family, including Priscilla and daughter Riley Keough, were photographed outside a city hospital before her death was announced.
“Intolerable”
Fellow singer Diane Warren expressed sadness at the “terrifying news.”
“Oh, this is such terrible news,” she wrote.
“Right now, the whole world is sending love and prayers to the children of Priscilla and Lisa Marie.

Nancy Sinatra, whose father Frank played with Elvis many times, said, “Sometimes I find myself wishing there was an afterlife, and tonight is one of those times.
“Otherwise, the void, the emptiness, is intolerable.”
