“I lost all the friends I ever had.”

A year after appearing on ITV’s romance show, Love Island winner Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu opened up about her life and revealed the most heartbreaking aspects of it.

Since leaving the series, Ekins said he’s lost all the friends he had before he came on the show and now finds it hard to trust people.

The 28-year-old won 63.7% of the popular vote to win the 2022 series alongside her partner Davide Sanclimenti.

Ekin-Su opened up about the time after the show, telling Cosmopolitan UK: “All my friends are gone.”

Ekin Su said she only has one friend left and that fame isn’t everything and now she can see people’s “true colors”.

“People just want to be your friend because of your status. It’s a tough industry to trust,” she continued.

“People I’ve known for 10 years who have been part of my life… It’s not a very good idea to sell your story. I wouldn’t do that to anyone.”

She said she was happier that way, but some people had to cut themselves out of their lives once they left the villa, and sometimes a small circle is best.

Ekins recently traveled to his native Turkey with the British Red Cross following a devastating earthquake that killed around 60,000 people.

She returned to travel with her boyfriend Davide in March and has since opened up about how the experience was both “moving” and “traumatic.”

Eakin, who appeared on Good Morning Britain, told Susannah Reed and Ed Boles that she met many children who lost their parents and other family members in the tragedy.

She remembered a girl who lost her mother and how hard it was to leave her behind.

The four-year-old referred to Eakin as “mom,” and it had a huge impact on her.

During the program, she said, “I definitely want to take her.

“The whole experience was traumatic. But once you bring them home, you want to help everyone.

“I just really want to raise awareness. We don’t know how lucky we are to be in the UK.”
