Comedian Kevin Bridges is heartbroken after the death of his ‘hilarious’ father at age 75

Comedian Kevin Bridges has shared the heartbreaking news of his father’s passing.

Andy Bridges is 75, and Kevin, 36,’s spokesperson confirmed the funny man’s dad passed away earlier this week.

Kevin is believed to have been with his mother Patricia and other family members when his beloved father passed away.

“Patricia, who was his wife for 47 years, stayed by his side with his sons John and Kevin, as well as Kevin’s wife and grandson Liam,” a family friend said.

They continued to tell The Sun: The last few weeks he was still playing new material.

“Andy is very hilarious and Kevin picked up his comedic skills from there.”

Andy’s death came after he battled “poor health” over the last few months.

Kevin also said he was “proud” of his father, who overcame depression by performing a poem he wrote.

His mental health problems started when Andy was forced to give up his job as a result of his rheumatoid arthritis.

Comic Kevin often praises his father’s support for his career before recalling how his late father took him to the first open mic night at the Stand Comedy Club in Glasgow. bottom.

Anecdotes about Kevin’s dad are also frequently featured in his stand-up routines.

He once left the audience at the seams on The Graham Norton Show when Andy told them he had missed the Orient Express.

“He got off at Innsbruck station and sent me a message, but he was so used to me telling him that the train signal was bad that he thought he couldn’t send me a message from the train.

“So he got off the train before it left and sent me this long text about how they drank wine and ate and stared out at the Tyrolean mountains. He even spell-checked.

“And I read this text and I’m filling it in because they had a really good time. And the text goes like this: ‘S***e, the train just left.’ Can you call me your son?”

Luckily, Andy eventually made it back on the train and was even given a standing ovation by the other passengers, so it wasn’t a wasted anniversary gift.

This story has everyone laughing to tears and is one of the many hilarious moments Kevin remembers as he remembers his father.
