Be For Films sells Agnes Jaoui Starrer ‘La Vie de Ma Mere’ to the international market (exclusive)


Brussels-based distributor Be For Films has closed massive pre-sales of Julien Carpentier’s feature debut La vie de ma mère, a mother-son drama starring Agnès Jaouy and William Refgir.

The heartwarming film, currently posted, follows Julien, a successful 33-year-old florist whose life is turned upside down. When his mother, Judith, whom he had not seen for two years, reappeared. Her wayward and extravagant, she suffers from bipolar disorder and she recently escaped from a clinic. Pierre thinks he is the only one. It’s about getting her back as soon as possible so his life can get back on track. But nothing happens as he hoped. Their unexpected reunion would change Pierre and Judith forever. Alison Wheeler and Salif Cisse complete the cast. Distributed in France by KMBO.

‘La vie de ma mere’ is produced by Silex Films, the flagship of Aurélie Saada’s acclaimed feature debut ‘Rose’ with Françoise Fabian and Aure Atika.

Be For Films pre-sold the film in Canada (Axia Films Inc), Benelux (Cinéart) and Switzerland (Frenetic Films). The company will pursue sales at the Unifrance Rendez-Vous in Paris and will launch promotional reels at the European Film Market.

Be For Films’ current production includes Olivier Pillon’s romance drama Lie With Me, starring famous French actors such as Guillaume de Tonquebec and Victor Belmondo. The film is based on Philip Besson’s autobiographical novel Arrête avec tes mensonges.

In “Lie With Me,” De Tonquebec plays the famous novelist Stéphane Belcourt, the brand ambassador for the famous cognac celebrating its 200th anniversary. I returned to my hometown for the first time in a while after a gig. There he meets Lucas, the son of the man he passionately loved when he was seventeen. Memories of this first love rush back to Stefan, and he and Lucas embark on an impossible love affair.
